Timken Foundation Donates Lead Gift
The Timken Foundation of Canton has donated a $1.5 million gift to the College of Aeronautics and Engineering Building expansion project. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Oct. 1 to officially begin this project that will add 80 percent more space to the college’s facilities.
Passionate About Aerospace Engineering
Sydney Bihn, ’20, became the first woman to graduate from Kent State’s Aerospace Engineering Program and also became a third-generation engineer in her family.
Using Hands-On Learning
Michael Parker, ’20, received seven scholarships during his Kent State experience. “The scholarships that I received gave me the financial security I needed to pursue my goal of becoming an engineer,” he said.
New Crawford Hall Building

New Wing for Engineering Building
An addition to the College of Aeronautics and Engineering Building will accommodate a dramatic growth in student enrollment by adding 50 percent more space to the existing building.
Alumnus Supports New Building
Bob Archer, MBA, ’61 began his Kent State University journey as a result of a tuition assistance program that his first employer, The Hoover Company, provided as a benefit. “My career goal was to pursue management positions and someday own my own company,” said Bob.
