The National Career Development Association (NCDA) promotes career development through its annual celebration of National Career Development Week each November.

Students and career development professionals celebrate this week all around the country with career related activities and events. Please join us for Kent State’s first celebration of National Career Development Week by attending events throughout the week that will provide you with resources, exploration of career possibilities, insights from professionals in your career field, and fun prizes including an iPad Mini giveaway! The Career Closet provides donated, professional attire at no cost for all Kent State University students who need an appropriate outfit for an interview, career fair, or other professional event. From Crochet to Career

From Crochet to Career is a fun way to learn about the top 8 skills that employers want from their employees, candidates, and recent graduates. Learn how to demonstrate these skills and transfer them on to your resume and cover letter while simultaneously learning how to crochet. No crochet experience or tools are necessary to participate in this workshop.

“Flashternships” are micro-internships targeted toward freshmen and sophomores.

Students get to spend time shadowing a professional in the field of study or organization of their choice. Flashternships are designed to give you some insights into what kinds of opportunities are available within an organization, what day to day work looks like, and what the company culture is all about.

Students coming to Schneller will see B2B product design and development activities. They will get a glimpse into design for manufacturing, the importance of working with cross-functional teams in product design and hear some challenges that can be faced in different scenarios. They will learn the importance of understanding your customer base especially when you are working with Global Brands.
