Coping with Culture Shock and Reverse Culture Shock, Tips to manage stress |
Students have various experiences coming to a new country. Understanding a new culture, behaviors, customs, food habits, communication, dress and style of dressing are some issues that we will cover. We will understand ways to manage culture shock and review other sources of stress that may come with adjusting to a new culture. We will learn practical ways to communicate, learn about acculturation, and ways to balance one's home culture and the new culture. Lastly, we will talk about self-care strategies and ways to seek help. |
