A First-Year student is someone who has not attended any college, university, technical or proprietary school after graduation from high school. Students who have taken college coursework while in high school are considered first-year students.
The Honors College seeks to recruit a diverse student body that fosters a community of academic excellence. As a student in the Honors College, you will be a part of both a large university and an intimate community of dedicated scholars. You will have at your disposal the resources of a major public research institution while taking small classes that emphasize participation in discussions.
