CoN Admission policy transfer internal
College of Nursing Admission Policy:
- Pre-Nursing: To be admitted to the pre-nursing program, you need to follow the university admission guidelines above, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- BSN: To be admitted in the sophomore nursing sequence, applicants must have a GPA of at least a 2.75, both as a cumulative average and in the first-year sciences (Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Basic Microbiology, Molecules of Life) based on 30 semester hours of college-level coursework. Enrollment in the nursing sequence at the Kent and Salem campuses is limited and begins in the fall and spring semester each year. Enrollment in the nursing sequence at the regional campuses (Stark, Trumbull, and Geauga campuses) is limited and begins only in the fall semester each year.
If you were previously enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and you have attended clinical courses, you will also need to complete the transfer application. This application is reviewed by a faculty committee to determine admissions, course transferability, etc.
- RN-to-BSN: To be admitted to the BSN for Registered Nurses concentration, you must follow the university admission guidelines above, must have a verifiable registered nurse license in the state where you will complete your clinical requirements, and must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in all prior college-level coursework.
