LPN-to-BSN Middle

 

Admission Requirements

Admission to the LPN to BSN program is a two-step process. First, you must be admitted in the Nursing major. Second, upon completion of all core and prerequisite courses, you may apply to the professional nursing sequence.

I. Nursing Major

Kent Campus

  • Completion of high school math, biology, and chemistry
  • 2.7 overall high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum 22 ACT composite/1020 SAT combined critical reading and mathematics score
Applicants with lower ACT/SAT scores but higher GPAs may qualify. See the full admissions requirements for details.
 

Regional Campuses

Admission to the regional campuses (non-nursing major) requires the following:

  • High school transcripts or GED
  • ACT/SAT scores

II. Professional Nursing Sequence

  • Overall 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • An overall average 2.75 GPA in the required science courses (BSCI 21010, BSCI 21020, BSCI 20021, and CHEM 10055)
  • A “C” or better in all science and math courses
  • Completion of all core and prerequisite nursing courses
  • Unrestricted LPN license

Curriculum

You will begin with courses that demonstrate the core foundations of the nursing profession and its historical roots. The capstone preceptorship will expose you to research and professional-practice concepts that will ensure your ability to be a nurse leader and healthcare advocate.

Throughout the program, you will study lifespan and cultural diversity issues while applying evidence-based practice to the profession.
