Daban Mohammed Haji

Daban is a doctoral student in Translation Studies at Kent State University, USA, where he also serves as a graduate student employee/Teaching Assistant in the School of Media and Journalism. He holds a Master’s degree in Translation Studies from the University of Sulaimani and a Diploma in Higher Education Contemporary Pedagogy from HAMK (Häme University of Applied Sciences) in Finland.
In addition, I am a lecturer in the Department of Translation at the University of Sulaimani and served as the Director of the Centre for Pedagogical Training and Academic Development at the University of Sulaimani. Having represented my university in Finland in 2024 for specialized pedagogical training at HAMK (Häme University of Applied Sciences), I now work as a pedagogy trainer across higher education institutions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, focusing on curriculum modernization and the Bologna Process. My core research interests center on Cognitive Translation Studies, scientific and medical translation, and translation and pedagogy, and higher education policy reform.
