    Biography

    Matt Kemp earned his PhD in French from Florida State University in 2006, and joined the Kent State faculty in 2007. He coordinates the Elementary French program and teaches classes in French language, literature and culture.  His research interests include 20th Century French and Francophone literatures and cultures, contemporary Franco-American political and cultural relations, the Algerian War, post-colonialism and post-colonial cultures in France, and French and American intellectuals.
