Biography
I am a Ph.D. student in Translation Studies at Kent State University, with research interests in interpreting technology, particularly computer-assisted interpreting (CAI), and cognitive interpreting studies. I hold a Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) degree, specializing in English–Mandarin Chinese interpreting, and have professional experience in conference and industrial interpreting, localization, and language education. My teaching experience includes teaching Foreign Language and Culture Studies at Kent State University and serving as a teaching assistant for a master’s-level course in consecutive interpreting.
My dissertation research investigates the cognitive and performance-related effects of emerging interpreting technologies, with particular attention to AI-driven tools and real-time computer assistance. More specifically, my current research examines how automatic speech recognition (ASR) and other forms of visual prompting shape interpreters’ cognitive processes, decision-making, and performance during interpreting. I am also interested in the pedagogical and practical implications of these technologies for interpreter training and professional practice.
