Kent State University at Tuscarawas proudly announces students who were named to either the President’s or Dean’s Lists for their academic achievements during the Spring 2020 semester.

In recognition of an extremely high level of academic excellence, a President’s List is compiled each academic semester. To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 4.00 and must have completed 15 or more letter-graded credit hours (A, B, etc.) by the end of that semester.

Sixteen performing arts centers and venues from around the state of Ohio, including the Performing Arts Center at Kent State at Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia, are joining forces to survey the consumer confidence of their audiences amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Venues designed to bring together large gatherings of people to experience a live performance are being hit especially hard by the pandemic. Their doors were among the first to close and will most likely be the last to reopen as bans on large gatherings are still in place throughout the state.

Discover Kent State University at Tuscarawas through a Virtual Open House on Wednesday, June 10 or Thursday, July 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. Students who are just starting their college career, transfer students and those with some college credits but no degree are encouraged to attend and can join the virtual experience at www.kent.edu/tusc/visit-campus.

Kent State University’s reopening committees continue to work for a safe return to our campuses this fall. We plan to resume residential living and in-person classes in August, and we are developing several scenarios to ensure an outstanding and safe experience for our students, faculty and staff.

Since a traditional pinning celebration was not possible due to COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions, recent Kent State University at Tuscarawas Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program graduates received their nursing pins and special recognition through an innovative drive thru procession that wound through campus on Thursday, May 7.

The pinning ceremony is a time-honored nursing school tradition signifying the nursing student’s official initiation into the brotherhood and sisterhood of nurses.

Know that the university is committed to continuing the excellent instruction you expect from us for the remainder of this semester in a way that is as flexible and equitable as possible.

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Computer Design, Animation and Game Design program will have three speakers featured on the Vector online game conference on April 24 and 25, 2020. Vector is a game conference in its fifth year. While normally held at Eastern Kentucky University, the event this year is being held online and brings together creative minds from the world of digital media.
