Kent State Scholarships

There are hundreds of scholarships available to Kent State students. The Student Financial Aid office provides a scholarship search engine to find and apply for these opportunities.

College of Nursing Scholarships

The College of Nursing offers scholarships for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Some of these scholarships have specific criteria (listed below) which must be met. Scholarship applications are available annually during the Spring semester for the upcoming Fall semester.

Scholarship applications for 2022-23 are now closed. 2023-2024 applications will be available in spring 2023.

Established to provide funds to a BSN student enrolled in clinicals.

To provide funds to an Undergraduate or Graduate student with preference to a diploma graduate of the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing.

Any undergraduate or graduate student is eligible.

Yoost & Crawford Fundamentals of Nursing Scholarship

This fund is for a junior level nursing student, with preference of 3.0 GPA, that has demonstrated outstanding performance in clinical nursing. To be used for tuition, fees, books, room, and board.

Anita O’ Toole Endowed Scholarship

To provide funds to a graduate student in the Psychiatric Mental Health concentration.

American Nurses Association/OJIN Nursing Scholarship Fund

Sophomore level, 3.25 GPA minimum, short essay 500 words maximum about a nursing issue discussed in OJIN.

Karen Budd & Donna Martsolf Endowed Nursing Scholarship

Established to provide financial assistance to an undergraduate or graduate nursing student studying maternity, pediatric, psychiatric/mental health or women’s health nursing. Graduate must be enrolled in Parent/Child concentration and registered for a clinical course in pediatric, women’s health or psychiatric/mental health and registered for a clinical course in psychiatric or mental health.

Established for a sophomore in the nursing program, interested in Oncology.

Established to provide funds to a nontraditional age student with high academic performance and demonstrates leadership on campus.
