Kent State receives American Translators Association Gode Medal

We are happy to announce that our translation program just received the Alexander Gode Medal awarded by the American Translators Association (ATA).  “The Alexander Gode Medal, ATA's most prestigious award, is presented to an individual or institution in recognition of outstanding service to the translation and interpreting professions.”   Kent State is one of only four institutions to have received the medal since 1981. Dr. Erik Angelone, the coordinator of Kent State’s new Distance Learning Translation M.A. program, attended the 2019 ATA conference in Palms Spring California to receive the medal on behalf of the Institute for Applied Linguistics.
