Join us at Kent State University's Kent Campus in Ohio from May 28th to June 30th, 2024, for an immersive 5-week summer program tailored for undergraduate and graduate students across Northeast Ohio (NEO). This dynamic program offers the opportunity to earn up to 6 credits, opening doors to exciting educational and career pathways. Whether you opt for residential or commuter options, dive into a summer of learning and growth!

Thanks to the generous support of Intel Corporation, full scholarships are available for both residential and commuter students.

Ideal for students in diverse fields such as Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and more, this program aligns with various career paths. With Intel's presence in Ohio driving growth in the semiconductor industry, there's a high demand for workers in critical areas such as research and development, equipment design, and quality assurance.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • To enroll in Cleanroom-Based Semiconductor Fabrication, you MUST simultaneously enroll in either Introduction to Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology OR Semiconductor Manufacturing and Processing; the lecture course is a CO-REQUISITE. 
  • You CANNOT take the Cleanroom-Based Semiconductor Fabrication course without one of the lecture courses. 
  • You CANNOT take BOTH Introduction to Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology AND Semiconductor Manufacturing and Processing. Only select ONE of these.
  • Semiconductor Manufacturing and Processing Course has PREREQUISITES that MUST be met before enrollment.

Housing, Dining and Parking

The Summer Housing application is now open for students to apply. Students with a valid Banner ID and KSU email who have registered for the summer courses can access the application at www.kent.edu/housing/summer-housing. Please ensure you are logged in to Google with your Kent State Credentials to access the application. If you receive a permission message, it means you are not logged in with your KSU credentials.

For Guest Students: Prior to applying for summer housing, you must apply and been admitted to Kent State as a guest/transient student and received a Banner/KSU ID number and a Kent State email address. You must have your Banner ID# and KSU email before submitting a housing application. Once admitted, you can access the Summer Housing Application. Note: If you encounter 'permission' issues, log in to Google using your Kent State email and password.

Congratulations on your acceptance into the program! We're thrilled to have you join us on this exciting journey. Here are the next steps to get started. 

1.Confirm your participation in the summer program by emailing semiconductoredpath@kent.edu.

To complete your participation confirmation, please provide the following information:

  • Banner ID#: for KSU students
  • @ksu.edu Email Address: for KSU students
  • Your home institution for KSU guest students
  • Program Option Confirmation: Please confirm the program option you have selected.
  • Scholarship Need Confirmation: Indicate any scholarship needs you have (tuition, housing, dining, parking). You do not have to indicate amounts, only the category (ies).
  • Concerns and Contact Preference: If you have any concerns or would like someone to discuss your concerns with you, please let us know and provide a preferred contact number.

We must receive your confirmation so we can inform Financial Aid to apply the scholarship to your account and Residence Life to assign summer housing for you upon submission of your housing application.

Note for guest students: Prior to applying for summer housing, you must apply and be admitted to Kent State as a guest/transient student and receive a Banner/KSU ID number and a Kent State email address.

2.Apply for Admission to KSU (GUEST STUDENTS ONLY)

Prior to applying for summer housing, you must apply and be admitted to Kent State as a guest/transient student.

Send your Banner ID# and KSU email to semiconductoredpath@kent.edu.

Once admitted, you can access the Summer Housing Application.

Note: If you encounter 'permission' issues, log in to Google using your Kent State email and password.

3.Register for Summer Courses (ALL STUDENTS)

Be sure to register for each course that you were accepted to participate in.

4.Apply for Housing (STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO LIVE ON CAMPUS)

Access the application at www.kent.edu/housing/summer-housing.

Make sure you are logged in to Google with your Kent State Credentials. If you receive a permission message, it means you are not logged in to Google with your KSU credentials.

5.Apply for Block 30 Dining Plan (STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO LIVE ON CAMPUS)
