Dear Campus Community, As you are well aware, these are very different conditions under which to teach, learn and do business. I want to inform you that we are continuing to operate and early signs are positive. I realize we are only a few days into this, but I am so proud of the way our campus has handled this situation. The spring installment of the 2019-2020 Women’s Success Series is moving to Friday, Aug. 21. Yoga instructor Sarah DiFazio is the featured speaker for this session. The event will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Kent State University at Tuscarawas in the Science and Advanced Technology Center. Cost to attend is $15 when paid in advance and $20 at the door. Schillig volunteers his time to serve on several business and education-related boards in the area which benefit residents and businesses in Tuscarawas County. Honors College Students and Staff Pose at Mat Making Event

On February 21, Jackie Searfoss, a representative of the Streetsboro United Methodist Church (SUMC), visited Kent State University to introduce the Honors College community to an initiative that SUMC is very passionate about. At the event, which was organized by Honors College special assistant Lori Michael, Searfoss showed Honors College students and staff how to create sleeping mats for the homeless using only scissors and plastic grocery bags. Executive Chef for Kent State

Campus Executive Chef, Billy Edmondson, won first place at the 2020 NACUFS Midwest Culinary Challenge. The event took place at University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana this past weekend.
