Careers
Many graduates of the Ph.D. in Cultural Foundations have pursued careers in various education-related fields nationally and internationally, including faculty and administrators in higher education, Pre-K–12 education administration, educational organizations, cultural organizations, civic organizations, and non-profits. Others see an advanced degree in the Cultural Foundations as a way of opening up new avenues in their professional lives while contributing to their communities.
On April 8, around 3:15 p.m., Northeast Ohio will experience a total solar eclipse, where the moon will completely cover the sun and reveal the corona, the sun’s atmosphere. According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, this will be the first total eclipse in Ohio since 1806, and the next is predicted for 2099. The focus is to understand the nature, meaning, health, social and political implications and consequences of disability within the context of a diverse and global world.

Graduates of the Ph.D. program will have the knowledge, critical understandings and interpretive skills to analyze and assess educational policies, theories and practice, and to lead and promote innovation in education, whether in academia or private, public, formal, nonformal or informal settings social contexts, and agencies.
Master's Programs
M.A. in Cultural Foundations
Explore education in its social and cultural contexts through a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives. Students in the M.A. degree write a thesis on an educational topic of their own choosing. Thesis students work closely with their academic supervisor to generate a thesis topic and design a research study or undertake a scholarly analysis of an issue of interest to the student.
