Dr. Meehan came to the iSchool in 2012, bringing an extensive background in research related to health care and health informatics, particularly focused on information technology and user experience. Her interests center on improving patient safety outcomes by improving the user experience of health information technology, and sociotechnical approaches to improving health outcomes for a diverse cultural population. Dr. Meehan bridges academic research to industry applications and standards.
Kent State University's Undergraduate Student Government represents the undergraduate student body. On Oct. 25, student government welcomed members of Hillel and Students for Justice in Palestine for both student groups to present their concerns about the Israel-Hamas war in a respectful environment. Doctoral student Chuyi Zhang was honored for her prestigious University Fellowship for AY 23-24. For Jeffrey Osikiewicz, Ph.D., the teaching experience feels like a domino effect, one element leads to another to yet another. “If you come in as an instructor and you really like what you're doing, you enjoy the classroom. November 1, 2023 Dear students, faculty and staff, I’m writing to share with you that an act of vandalism was recently discovered at our campus, and that the damage included a drawing of a racist symbol etched in a bathroom stall. We have no way of knowing when this incident occurred. What we do know is that vandalism, particularly when it involves hateful and racist words or symbols, and the people who carry it out, have no place in our values-based Kent State community, which includes kindness and respect in all we do.
