Kent State University will hold its 15th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
The Kent State University Press, the publishing arm of the university, is now a department under the report of Kent State University Libraries. The move provides new expertise and capacity for both organizations, positioning them to better align with Kent State’s strategic priorities and explore innovative approaches to delivering knowledge through scholarly communication and publishing.

The Ohio Controlling Board has approved Kent State University’s request to purchase property located at 430-436 E. Main Street in Kent from seller GDR Partners LLC. The purchase of the property completes the university’s strategic acquisition of properties on this block associated with partnership with the city of Kent and the economic revitalization of the downtown business district.
No student tuition or fees are being used to pay for the property. University investment proceeds have been set aside for all property purchases associated with this initiative.

Kent State University's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
