Kent, Ohio – The Kent Blossom Music Festival, running June 30 through Aug. 4, and Festival Director Ricardo Sepúlveda announce the 51st concert season of Kent State University’s partnership with The Cleveland Orchestra. This year’s festival includes a 5-concert Faculty Series and a 10-concert Young Artists Series, with performances held both in Kent State’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music’s Ludwig Recital Hall and venues in Hudson and Ravenna.
The Kent Blossom Music Festival has been awarded a $15,000 Kulas Foundation Grant to support the Kulas Visiting Artist residency during the Summer 2019 season. This marks the seventh season of receiving a grant from the foundation, which has supported visits from such distinguished artists as the Emerson String Quartet, violinist Jennifer Koh, Time for Three, horn player Jeff Nelson, violist and violinist Ida Kavafian, and clarinetist David Shifrin.

Soon, students will start arriving from around the world for the the Kent Blossom Music Festival's 50th anniversary season. Running 5 weeks, July 1 - Aug. 5, the faculty of the festival includes members of The Cleveland Orchestra, Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and guest artists. Students will work weekly with these faculty members in private lessons, chamber music coaching and orchestra classes.
