Spring 2018

Gretchen Dworznik, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, will present her research on Friday, April 20, as part of the Spring 2018 College of Communication and Information (CCI) Research Colloquium.

The next Spring 2018 CCI Research Colloquium presentation will take place at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, April 6, in Rm. 332 of the University Library.

 

The Kent State University School of Communication Studies will host the Spring 2018 Hyde Park Forum on Tuesday, April 24 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom at 7 p.m.

 

The event is an opportunity for students enrolled in the Introduction to Human Communication course to participate in a speech competition in front of an audience of peers, family and faculty. Judges rate students' performances to designate first, second, third and honorable mentions.

The fourth Spring 2018 CCI Research Colloquium Presentation will take place on Friday, March 23 in the Library, Room 332 at 2:15 p.m.

 

College of Communication and Information Ph.D. student David Cossilo will be presenting his research titled, “Sports Media and Health Issues."

 

Cossilo will be focusing on his own conducted research relating to media coverage of concussions in sports.

David Trebing, Ph.D., an associate professor in the School of Communication Studies (COMM), and Stephanie Smith, an assistant professor who teaches in COMM and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC), will lead a teaching colloquium on Friday, April 13, in Rm. 226 of Taylor Hall beginning at 2:15 p.m.

The School of Communication Studies (COMM) will offer a course called “Seminar: Vietnam: Messages from the Cultural Divide” during the Spring 2018 semester.

COMM Associate Professor David Trebing, Ph.D., will teach the course for the third time, which will count as an upper division elective for communication students.
