Kent State University students rose to the challenge as they competed to win $2,000 at LaunchNET’s Elevator Pitch contest on Wednesday evening.

Kent State University is celebrating its first-generation students this week with a series of events and programs to spotlight and encourage current students who will be the first in their families to earn a bachelor’s degree. As part of the celebration, some faculty and staff who were first-generation students share their stories in their own words.

Kent State University celebrated the journey of first-generation college students and those who have made an impact serving as their mentors and advocates with the “I Am First” awards ceremony on Wednesday. 

Kent State University’s Center for Adult and Veteran Services offers family-friendly study hours for student parents that offers a trained student volunteer to entertain and supervise children, most Tuesdays from 2-5 p.m. and Wednesdays 4-7 p.m. on the sixth floor of the library.

The Kent State Student Leadership Consultants (SLC) hosted a workshop Tuesday, Nov. 8, that showed students how strong leadership can be used to fundamentally change the culture in their student organizations and workplaces.

After a three-year hiatus, Flash Medical Center returned to Kent State University at Ashtabula’s Robert S. Morrison Hall for a one-day medical emergency simulation on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022.
