The Kent State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics recognized several students enrolled in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering this past Sunday, April 28 at the annual Judith K. Devine Athletic Academic Honor’s Dinner. Students were rewarded for their scholastic achievement as well as their leadership skills.

The College of Aeronautics and Engineering is thrilled to share that Dr. Hossein Mirinejad has been awarded the Healthy Communities Research Institute (HCRI) Faculty Fellowship for the 2024-2025 academic year at Kent State University.

Kent State University's College of Aeronautics and Engineering celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Aircraft Dispatch program. During the past decade, this FAA-certified program has graduated nearly 200 students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to pursue rewarding careers as aircraft dispatchers.

Safran Electrical & Power became an Official Corporate Partner of Kent State’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the 2023 fall semester. Safran was a presenting sponsor of KSU’s Advanced Air Mobility Workshop. Safran also participated in KSU’s spring 2024 Career Fair.

Hossein Mirinejad, Ph.D., assistant professor in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University was recently awarded a National Science Foundation CAREER award for his innovative research, “CAREER: Towards Safe and Interpretable Autonomy in Healthcare.”

2024 KSU Flight Team

Last year, the The Kent State Flight Team brought home an impressive collection of competition trophies and the pilots are is ready to take flight to bring in even more wins this year.

Hosted annually, the competition challenges undergraduate teams to present solutions to complex cases involving ethical, business, and engineering dilemmas. Representing Kent State's Aerospace Engineering program were two teams: sophomore David Hackett and junior Jaden Lepp, and sophomore Cole Dockus and junior Haley Dees.

Republic Airways became an Official Corporate Partner of Kent State’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the 2023 fall semester. Republic Airways supports Kent State through numerous sponsorship elements including being one of KSU’s premier professional pilot pathway partners.
