Understanding academic freedom and freedom of expression were the topics of Tuesday’s “Dialogue and Difference” session, part of a series designed to engage the Kent State University community in discussions that will advance our core values of freedom of expression, respect and kindness in all we do.

Kent State University’s College of Nursing Assistant Professor Janet Reed, Ph.D., wanted to know how nursing students’ biggest fears about going into the nursing profession would translate into AI-generated art. The resulting images that portray a physical representation of the students’ worries about their future profession are prompting discussions.

Short films from two Kent State digital media production students and three alumni will be shown this year at the 13th annual Short. Sweet. Film Fest., which takes place Feb. 28-March 3 at Atlas Cinemas Shaker in Cleveland, Ohio. Digital Media Production Associate Professor Scott Hallgren also will moderate a panel discussion at the event.
