Elyza Morckel

Elyza is a junior BFA Dance Performance Major from Akron, Ohio, and is a first-year member of the Kent State Dance Ensemble. Elyza has performed in both faculty and student concerts at Kent State, and will be choreographing her own piece this year in the Student Dance Festival Concert. She is a third year member of the Student Dance Education Organization, has been a member of National Honors Society Dance Association since 2014, and has been recognized on the Dean’s List. During her time at Kent State as a dance major, Elyza has received multiple awards such as “Student Dance Education Organization Peer Award” and “Outstanding Service to Dance Division” based on her daily performance. She was also given the “All Ohio Dance Festival Senior Scholarship” in 2017 for her performance at the festival. She has danced in concerts and has been apart of intensives produced by The Movement Project, a dance company based in Cleveland, Ohio. Elyza is very thankful to be given such an amazing opportunity to be apart of KDE, and hopes to take advantage of every opportunity that is to come in her final years at Kent State.
