ABOUT THE SPRING PITCH COMPETITION
The John S. And Marlene J. Brinzo Center For Entrepreneurship hosts an annual pitch competition to help grow and nurture student startups within the Ambassador Crawford College's entrepreneurship program each spring. All KSU majors are welcome to apply either individually or as a team. Students are selected using the following criteria:
- Business model (market, customer, revenue model, past sales or growth potential)
- Competitive positioning within the market
- Originality/Innovation
Once selected, the finalists participate in a mentorship program to prepare for the live pitch event. In total, $20,000 will be awarded at the live Spring Pitch Competition in April.
The Greater Cleveland Alumni Chapter will be placing flags on the graves of veterans buried at Lake View Cemetery to honor their service prior to Memorial Day. Afterward, continue the camaraderie with fellow alumni at lunch. Please register here if you plan to attend!
RSVP by May 15. Location of the lunch will be determined closer to the event. Please note alumni are responsible for the cost of their own lunch.

CAE Research: Where Innovation Meets Impact
📡 Digitization & Extended Reality (XR)
From augmented flight simulations to immersive training environments, our work in virtual, augmented, and mixed reality—combined with digital engineering is transforming how we design, build, test, field, and sustain aerospace systems.
🚁 Advanced Air Mobility
CAE research in urban air mobility (UAM) – including collision avoidance, reliability, robustness, and resilience, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks – drives our partnerships with industry, government, and community stakeholders to enable the future integration of autonomous aircraft into the national airspace and the global economy.
🤖 Autonomous Systems
Our research in mechatronics is advancing the development, modeling, and control of complex autonomous systems, from medical robotics and patient care systems to industrial automation, manufacturing, and human-robot interaction. We are driving innovations that transform how we work, interact, and care for one another.
🧠 AI-Enhanced Decision-Making
We leverage AI, neural networks, and machine learning to enhance operational efficiency in aerospace, engineering, and logistics, developing intelligent systems that improve decision-making, safety, and overall performance in numerous sectors.
🌱 Sustainable Energy Solutions
Our researchers are pioneering eco-friendly technologies, from groundbreaking advancements in fuel cell efficiency and jet fuel desulfurization to fundamental catalysis research for CO2 capture – we are advancing a cleaner and more sustainable future.
🛰️ Spacecraft Systems
Our spacecraft design lab provides hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing cutting-edge spacecraft technologies, including CubeSat and components for space exploration.
🧪 Multifunctional Materials
We are investigating structure-property relationships of novel liquid crystalline materials, focusing on attributes like high-temperature stability, anisotropic electrical conductivity, and ferromagnetism. These multifunctional properties hold promise for advancing batteries, fuel cells, and other sustainable energy technologies.
