Key Personnel

The services to be provided by an International Partnership center - The Center for Global Cyber Infrastructure Research, organized by Kent State University's Department of Computer Sciences (CS) and Information Services (IS), and joined by Ohio Academic Resource Network (OARnet), Ireland's National Research and Education Network (HEAnet) and Greece's Greek Research and Technology Network (GRNet).

The center has been proposed to coordinate advanced technical collaboration for the establishment of Emerging Research and Education Networks including Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) in response to the solicitation S9/20I0-90/598 by The Ministry of Education (MoE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh for the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP).

The partnership has been organized by Principal Investigator (PI) Prof. J.I. Khan, Kent State University. It will be led by him. The PI will be assisted by team leaders from the Ohio Academic Resource Network (OARnet) and the HEAnet, Ireland's National Research and Education Network. Each institution to provide a set of key professional experts listed in next table. The PI is an expert in the design of RENs in the developing countries. The Team Leaders of the two partners are the pioneers of their respective RENs and have been involved with their conception to decade long growth and evolution. This combined leadership will together organize the delivery of the proposed services. The office PI will act as the single point of contact for all coordination of technical work for the proposed activities.
