The city of Rovaniemi, where University of Lapland is located, is in the Arctic Circle, 66°33′45.9″ degrees north. Due to the university’s location, you can experience the midnight sun in the summer as well as the polar night during winter. University of Lapland is the European Union’s northernmost science and art university. Located in northern Finland, Rovaniemi is a popular tourist destination due to its many natural wonders, including the Aurora Borealis. Living in Rovaniemi
Students arrange housing through a student housing organization called Domus Arctica (DAS). Students stay in apartments that are located near the university or city center. Apartments are typically shared with 2-3 other people. The monthly rents vary depending on the size, condition, and level of the furnishings of the room.
