Pete Kenworthy
Biography
Pete Kenworthy joined University Communications and Marketing (UCM) in 2026 as a content creator. In this role, Pete produces compelling, audience-focused video and multimedia content from concept development through post-production that supports institutional storytelling, marketing initiatives, and digital engagement across platforms.
Prior to joining Kent State University, Pete spent 10 years at University Hospitals in Cleveland as senior producer and manager of multimedia production leading a team that produced more than 300 annual videos. He also spent 13 years as a broadcast journalist in Waco, TX, Buffalo, NY and most recently with WEWS-TV (ABC) in Cleveland where he finished his career as morning news anchor. Pete also spent 4 years as an adjunct professor in the university’s School of Media and Journalism.
Pete received his bachelor’s degree in English from The College of Wooster and his master’s degree in TV/Radio from Southern Methodist University. He resides in Kent, Ohio with his wife and three children.
