This Giving Tuesday, the Kent State University College of Nursing invites alumni, friends and supporters to make a lasting difference in the lives of future nurses by supporting the Nursing Simulation Fund. With a generous matching gift commitment from the College of Nursing Dean's Advisory Board, your generosity can go twice as far in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Giving Tuesday, a global celebration of generosity and philanthropy, will take place on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. At Kent State, this annual tradition extends beyond a single day, bringing together the Golden Flashes community throughout November to support the students, programs, and initiatives that make our university exceptional.
For the College of Nursing, this year's Giving Tuesday campaign will focus on an initiative that directly impacts the educational experience of our students: the Nursing Simulation Fund.
Simulation is an essential component of nursing preparation, providing students with opportunities to develop clinical skills, strengthen critical thinking, and build confidence before entering real-world healthcare environments. These experiences are particularly valuable because they provide students with a safe environment to learn, make mistakes, receive feedback and improve their skills.
As healthcare continues to evolve, so must the educational environments that prepare tomorrow's nurses. The College of Nursing is currently working toward significant renovations and enhancements to its simulation facilities, creating opportunities to expand learning and integrate innovative technologies into the student experience.
Planned improvements include expanded simulation spaces, advanced equipment and dedicated areas for debriefing and reflection. These enhancements will help students translate classroom knowledge into clinical practice while developing the judgment, adaptability, and confidence necessary to provide exceptional patient care. Support for the Nursing Simulation Fund will help advance these efforts, ensuring that current and future students have access to the tools and learning experiences they need to succeed.
This Giving Tuesday, the College of Nursing Dean's Advisory Board is demonstrating its commitment to student success by matching all gifts to the Nursing Simulation Fund, dollar for dollar, up to $2,500.
Every contribution, regardless of size, brings the college closer to its vision of providing state-of-the-art simulation experiences for Kent State nursing students.
Beyond equipment and facilities, these gifts represent an investment in the people who will care for our families, friends and communities. Today's nursing students are tomorrow's bedside nurses, advanced practice providers, educators and healthcare leaders. By supporting their education now, donors help strengthen the healthcare workforce for generations to come.

Together, we can help ensure that Kent State nursing students have the knowledge, skills and confidence to meet the challenges of tomorrow's healthcare landscape.
