Publication on the impact of the pandemic on alcohol use and psychological distress listed in the World Health Organization’s Global Literature on Coronavirus Disease database

A recent study by Dr. William Lechner, Department of Psychological Sciences, and colleagues in the Center for Public Policy and Health in the College of Public Health at Kent State University has been listed in the World Health Organization’s Global Literature on Coronavirus Disease database. The study found that following the closure of university campuses, alcohol consumption increased over time, with students who reported greater symptoms of psychological distress also reporting greater increases in alcohol consumption overall.
