Kent State University’s newest Flashfleet partnership with company VeoRide is changing the landscape of using a bike-share program on campus. Flashfleet is a bike-share program Kent State has in place for students, faculty, staff and surrounding community members. The university uses a mobility share company to partner with, and this year has introduced VeoRide. After the previous Flashfleet program’s company contract was up, Kent State held meetings with multiple different bike and mobility share companies to find a better fit for both Kent State and the Kent city community. “We chos...
Earlier this semester, a team of nursing students and faculty members volunteered to work at the Rural Area Mobile (RAM) free clinic held at the Covelli Center in Youngstown. The team spent a day working in triage, taking vital signs and collecting health history information from individuals preparing for a medical/dental or a medical/vision visit. The clinic was staffed by area medical professionals who provided free care to all who sought treatment. It is estimated that more than 700 patients were seen that day, receiving nearly $300,000 in free services. Representing Kent...

Being lost on campus, lugging textbooks from one building to another, missing the bus countless of times and spending lavishly on Meal Plan weren’t my ideal plans as a first-year student. My greatest achievement back then was ‘Freshman 15’. Flash forward to senior year now as I participate in the Welcome Crew, a team of volunteers who warmly greet and guide first-years, to create an impression that I have a better grip on college life. I can’t pretend that I’m not envious of the number of resources that first-years have now - packaged in the form of an app. A year ago, Systems Development and...
Pat Hazell's 'The Wonder Bread Years,' his solo comic riff on growing up as a kid in the Sixties, will have baby boomers in stiches when the show comes to the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas on November 9 at 7:30 p.m. A fresh and funny salute to Americana, The Wonder Bread Years starring Pat Hazell, a former Seinfeld writer, is a fast-paced, hilarious production that gracefully walks the line between standup and theater. Audiences across the country are enjoying a show that not only restores a much-needed sense of wonder, but leaves audiences laughing...

It expresses the shared impact on students who participated in a study abroad experience in Ireland facilitated by Kent State Geauga Assistant Professor in Economics Dr. Ludmila Leontieva. International Economic Experience: Ireland as a Hub for Transnationa...
