Kent State University is offering a community course that deals with the historical, cultural, social and political contexts of events before, during and after the May 4, 1970, shootings. The free course, Making Meaning of May 4: The Kent State Shootings in American History, will be held Oct. 16, 23 and 30 at the university’s May 4 Visitors Center. Design Innovation (DI) Hub Launch Party

Kent State University celebrated the launch of a dynamic new space, the Design Innovation (DI) Hub, in May that will bring innovations from many disciplines together in a 68,000 square foot building near the center of the Kent Campus. Girls in Aviation Day at the FedEx Aeronautics Academic Center

More than 100 attendees participated in Kent State University’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering’s (CAE) Girls in Aviation Day Saturday at the Kent State Airport. The global event is sponsored by Women in Aviation International (WAI) to introduce and encourage girls to pursue careers in aeronautics and aerospace. The Small Works Juried Exhibition is open to artists worldwide.  The exhibition will be on view at the KSU Downtown Gallery (141 E. Main St., Kent, Ohio) from January 24 - February 29, 2020.

Kent State University’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and Tuesday Musical, based in Akron, have launched a new series that will bring world-renowned classical musicians to the Kent Campus to work with students. The Tuesday Musical Masterclass Series will also be live streamed to provide increased access to classrooms and homes across Ohio and beyond. The Wick Poetry Center welcomed poet, playwright and activist Sonia Sanchez to the May Prentice House for a meet and greet with students on Sept. 18. She met with them in the afternoon before giving a lecture in the Kiva in the evening.
