In order to add the Computer/Technology Endorsement (#111770) to your Resident Educator or Professional Ohio teaching license, you must complete the Computer Technology Endorsement coursework and pass the Ohio Assessment Exam (OAE) in Computer/Technology. The Computer/Technology assessment contains two subtests: I (test code: 016) and II (test code: 017). Candidates must take and pass both subtests to qualify for an Ohio license in this field.
Individuals who complete the MERT 34002 ADVANCED SOLID MODELING course will gain an understanding of advanced parametric solid modeling using Creo Parametric to create and analyze solid models. This includes model creation using advanced features, introduction to FEA simulation, and manufacturing simulations. This course is offered online.
Individuals who complete the MERT 22012 FLUID POWER course will gain an understanding of fluid properties, kinematics of fluid flow, momentum, viscosity, conservation of energy in fluid flow, industrial hydraulics, and gas laws. Hands-on experience will be gained through experiments on the Vickers Hydraulic test stand.
Individuals who complete the MERT 12000 ENGINEERING DRAWING course will gain an understanding of engineering drawing principles and techniques: orthographic projection, sketching, sections, auxiliary views, dimensioning and conventional practices. Students will also learn how to make engineering drawings using AUTOCAD. This course is offered online.
Individuals who complete the ENGT 30000 ADVANCED MANUFACTURING course will understand the concepts of advanced manufacturing technologies, processes, and equipment. Covered topics include automation and process control, flexible manufacturing systems, and manufacturing using additive processes such as 3D printing. Students will learn hands-on programming and the operation of relevant equipment such as CNC machines and robots during the laboratory sessions.
The Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology degree provides the individual with the technical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a wide range of mechanical engineering roles. Depending on the coursework taken for completion of your initial degree, you may have to take one or more prerequisite undergraduate courses, in addition to the required ECED MAT course sequence. Transcripts will be continuously reviewed for prerequisites in math, science, American history, geography and child development leading up to the application deadline. Individuals who complete the ENGR 33031 PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLERS course will receive an introduction to programmable logic controllers (PLCS) covering hardware, ladder logic programming, networking, and communications. Programming timers, counters and sequencers and an introduction to human machine interfaces (HMIS).
