As television industry leaders prepare for the future, they are looking to get today’s college students involved in major industry events, like the regional and national Emmy Awards. On March 14, two leaders from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) will be speaking with Kent State students to discuss the future of the television industry and how they can be involved. Over the weekend, a Southwest Airlines flight was forced to turn back for an emergency landing after an incident where the plane is believed to have experienced bird strikes to an engine and the aircraft’s nose, according to an NBC article.  But, what is a bird strike?
