 Kent State University students, faculty, staff and community honored and reflected on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. during the university's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, featuring a dialogue centered on resilience, faith, justice and collective well-being. Matilde Carboncini competes for Kent State, hails from Italy

 When Matilde Carboncini was walking through the streets of Florence, Italy, the summer before starting college, she stumbled upon something unexpected. "I saw a Kent State sign, and I was like, that is interesting," Carboncini recalls.
