October 11 is National Coming Out Day. It is a significant and emotional day for the LGBTQ+ community across the country and at Kent State. This sign marks the spot along the Portage Hike and Bike Trail in Kent where Cuyahoga River dredging work is happening.

Members of the Kent State University community who enjoy kayaking along the Cuyahoga River or taking a walk or jog along the adjacent Portage Hike and Bike Trail may have noticed the river dredging work near Fred Fuller Park in Kent.  The work, which began in September, is expected to take about three months. Kent State University invited International Fashion Academy (IFA) Paris and International Migration Organization (IMO) to join them with the goal of bringing awareness to the world’s most prestigious fashion schools and the impact of global cultures. "As the World Weds: Global Wedding Traditions, " an exhibition at the Kent State University Museum, displays a range of beautiful, lavish and deeply symbolic clothing from wedding ceremonies around the world. Traditional clothing for both men and women are included in the contributions from the museum's rich holdings as well as pieces from private collections.  The exhibition runs from Sept. 16, 2022, through Aug. 27, 2023. Officials from Kent State University and the greater Kent and Portage County community came together Wednesday morning for the annual Bowman Breakfast, an event that has been bringing university and town officials together since 1963.  This year’s featured speaker was Lamar R.
