In an effort to maintain the University Prairie, the City of Kent Fire department will partner with the Kent State University Fire Safety department to produce a controlled burn on the southwest half of the prairie on Friday, Apr. 29, 2022 at 9 a.m.  A controlled burn, also known as a prescribed burn, involves setting a planned fire over a predetermined land to control the growth of undesirable brush and trees.  Most prairie species have an extremely deep root system to allow them to survive the fire and outcompete weed seeds.  The habitat for prairie insects, birds an...

In the midst of COVID-19, one Kent State student shares her internship experience working at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital. Nichole Sullenberger (She/Her) is a current senior Honors College student in the Nursing program at Kent State. KENT, OH – The Kent State University Museum is thrilled to announce its upcoming symposium, convened in conjunction with the exhibition “TEXTURES: the history and art of Black hair,” taking place April 14-15 at the KSU Museum.
