The School of Fashion congratulates senior B.A. Fashion Design major Dalimar Solis Ortiz who was recently selected by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as a finalist in the Re:Generation Innovation Scholar Award competition, sponsored by Swarovski Foundation. Solis Ortiz, a native of Puerto Rico, was also a finalist in the CFDA's Liz Claiborne Design Impactful Futures competition. Julia Hallgren didn’t know the student in front of her. She didn’t need to. “The student closed the door after they said they felt suicidal, (so) I knew I had to do something,” Hallgren said. Dear Kent State University Faculty, On Sept. 30, the two bargaining units of the Kent State Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP-KSU) and the university signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) through which faculty agreed to comply with the university’s vaccine requirement. The MOUs apply to all tenured and tenure-track and full-time non-tenure-track faculty regardless of teaching methodology. The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Kent State University a nearly $1.2 million, five-year TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers program grant. The program is designed to provide support services to qualified adults, including veterans, who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education.
