The competition came to a close Dec. 3 where seven students pitched their ideas and the judges crowned four winners. Fortunately, the weather was perfect for each event and thousands of area residents turned out to watch. The Kent State Golden Flashes football team (6-6) is bowling for the fourth time in school history, having accepted a bid to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl against Utah State (7-5, Mountain West). The game will take place on Friday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, with coverage on ESPN2. It will be the first bowl game for Kent State since the 2013 GoDaddy.com Bowl (2012 season).
