New laptop cart and laptop computers donated by the SCF

  The Salem Community Foundation recently donated more than $51,000 to the Kent State Salem Campus for the purchase of 45 new laptop computers, as well as a charging cart.  The computers are Dell Latitiude 5490 XCTO models and are used by faculty for testing and instruction of students in all majors. A national organization has recognized Kent State University with a perfect overall score for the university’s efforts to create a more inclusive campus and welcoming environment for all. Kent State has received a 5.0 out of 5.0 score on the Campus Pride Index, the premier national benchmarking tool for creating safer and more LGBTQ-friendly learning environments at colleges and universities. The students partnered with the Columbiana County Port Authority and the Office of Economic Development to develop a comprehensive marketing plan for the organizations. The Fashion School at Kent State University held its 37th annual fashion show April 26 and 27 in the school’s home of Rockwell Hall on the Kent Campus. Every year, Wilsonart sponsors a Student Chair Competition. This year, students from Kent State University were chosen to compete. They were tasked with designing a chair with the theme of "the future" while using parametric design as a tool for expression.
