Kent State University has been ranked one of the safest campuses in the country by the Council for Home Safety and Security, a national trade association. More than two dozen Kent State University faculty, staff members and students took part in Saturday’s Equality March, which kicked off the inaugural Akron Pride 2017 event. This is the first time the city of Akron has sponsored a Pride event, and the university participated as a sponsor for the day’s activities, which begin with the march at 11 a.m. in Akron’s Highland Square neighborhood. After a year of renovations, Taylor Hall will reopen for classes on Monday, Aug. 28. The Schools of Communication Studies (COMM) and Visual Communication Design (VCD) share the space in the modernized, four-floor building. The May 4 Visitors Center also calls Taylor Hall home and will reopen with normal hours on Sept. 5. It’s that time of year again! As part of the Wellness Your Way employee incentive program, full-time, benefits-eligible employees are invited to attend an onsite health screening, or have one completed in their primary care physician's office. Screenings conducted from Sept. 27, 2017, through April 30, 2018, will go toward the employee Tier One requirement for 2018 incentives.
