Biological Sciences Researchers Study Tire and Road Wear Pollutants in Kent Campus Stormwater Wetlands
In their research, David Costello, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, and his team looked at how particles that emerge from the traction between tires and the road have flowed into some of the water sources on the Kent campus.

“Our most recent work has focused on how oxytocin and vasopressin might contribute to brain development,” Caldwell said. “Specifically, the brain structures that are important for ‘maleness’ and ‘femaleness’ and the subsequent sex-specific behaviors that these brain regions regulate.”
