Inspired by the designer’s experience in the thesis program, Cord and Chaos by Krista Budd explores the intersections of art and design by incorporating the chaotic dynamism of the artist learning their medium and the discerning eye of the designer. Abstract expressionism, control, and balance is integral to the collection. 

Worth Wearing Wh1te

The antidote to the ego is accepting our humanity. Through sustainably sourced materials, neuroplasticity and symbolic support, this collection seeks to inspire the personal transformation of one's critical ego into one of confidence and acceptance of the entirety of oneself. To inspire acknowledgement of the simplicity of one's inherent worth.

Mélange

I was inspired for my collection to combine the techniques and aesthetics of up-cycling with ready for market looks, and to investigate the combination of artisanal methods and traditional ready to wear. I love creating one off handmade pieces, but I wanted to show that those pieces can have a place in an everyday wardrobe.  

Until the End

In my collection “Until the End”, I integrated artificial intelligence into my design process to explore the human and technology dynamic in a creative realm. Through the use of AI image generators such as MidJourney and Dalle-2, I worked in tandem with artificial intelligence to design my desired collection. 

Semper Paratus

Semper Paratus merges gorpcore and quiet luxury trends with ergonomic, user-friendly designs, by using quality materials and refined craft. The collection features heavy, natural textiles in a sophisticated color palette, offering a mature, timeless option within technical garments. Semper Paratus blends workwear, tailoring, and techwear for a versatile, refined look.
