Undergraduate Student Admission

At the undergraduate level, we offer the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. It has four paths to completion:

The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is also offered at 4 Kent State regional campuses. Learn more about the ADN.

4-Year (Traditional) BSN

Prospective 4-year (traditional) BSN students complete two applications. The first application is for admission to the university. Near the end of their first year, eligible students submit a second application to enter the professional nursing sequence.

Accelerated Second Degree BSN

Prospective Accelerated BSN (ABSN) students complete two applications. The first application is for admission to the university as a post-undergraduate degree-seeking student. ABSN students are eligible to apply to the professional nursing sequence once they have successfully completed all prerequisites.

LPN & Allied Health to BSN

Prospective LPN & Allied Health students complete two applications. The first application is for admission to the university. Once they have successfully completed all prerequisites, LPNs and Allied Health professionals are eligible to apply to the professional nursing sequence.


RN-to-BSN Online

Prospective RN-to-BSN students are eligible to apply to the program if they have graduated in good standing from a state-approved associate degree or diploma nursing program (2.0 or higher), have a valid RN license, and have completed the prerequisites.
