A message from Melody Tankersley

A few other notes of gratitude!

Written notes

Hi Sue,
How do I say goodbye? I can’t!
I want you to remember three letters from me; RTP. Not Reappointment, Tenure, and Promotion. But I want you to remember:

  • R for RESPECT: you taught me how to respect everyone, you showed me how to do this by your never-ending respect of others. I told you before, you are the best Christian I know.
  • T for TRUST: You don’t put your trust in just anyone, I feel very blessed and honored that you trusted me enough to let me into your life, to be a part of it. To be a part of your small trusting family.
  • P for PRODUCTIVITY: We’ve done a lot! We’ve done a lot together, we’ve done a lot independently! We have accomplished much. I hope that in the future, during your retirement, that your productivity changes to something more personal, more giving to yourself, because you have given to others all these years.

I just want you to know from the bottom of my heart how much I truly respect and trust you. I am going to miss you so much. You will never, ever know!

I thank you so much for everything you taught me. For making me go through I4E. Through EVERYTHING SUE, YOU HAVE BEEN THE GLUE! And Now, you must pass on the torch. I know that this is tough for you, but you will succeed at being retired, I know you will.

Your friend, Vanessa Courie

Dear Sue,
Congratulations on your retirement or “second life” as they say in Japan. You have been a great colleague over the years and I appreciate your advice and guidance. Best wishes and enjoy your retirement!

Sincerely,
