Those were the messages that actor Michael Keaton shared with Kent State University graduates taking part in the One University Commencement on Saturday, May 12.

Mr. Keaton, an Academy Award-nominated actor and Kent State alumnus, delivered the address at Dix Stadium before a standing room-only crowd of more than 21,000 people.

WHAT:
Kent State University will celebrate its newest graduates at its One University Commencement at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at Dix Stadium. The ceremony recognizes graduates from the university’s eight campuses. In total, Kent State will confer 5,345 degrees this spring. More than 3,000 graduating students have registered to attend the One University Commencement at the stadium.

Batman is coming to Kent State University.

Oscar-nominated actor Michael Keaton will return to the campus he once walked as a student while dreaming about making it big in Hollywood. The leading man who has inspired millions in iconic roles on the big screen will now inspire thousands of new Kent State graduates as he delivers the commencement address May 12 during Kent State’s university-wide Commencement ceremony.

Kent State University held its Fall Commencement ceremonies for the Kent Campus on Friday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center). Kent State conferred 2,320 degrees, including 1,824 bachelor’s degrees, 456 master’s degrees, 37 doctoral degrees and three educational specialist degrees.

Across the university’s eight-campus system, 2,981 students graduated from Kent State this fall, including those receiving associate degrees.

Kent State University held its Summer 2017 Commencement ceremonies for the Kent Campus on Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center). Kent State conferred 1,422 degrees, including 908 bachelor’s degrees, 427 master’s degrees, 67 doctoral degrees and 20 educational specialist degrees.

Across the university’s eight-campus system, 1,765 students graduated from Kent State this summer, including those receiving associate degrees.
