Mikala Lugen at Canyonlands National Park

Mikala Lugen, a 2019 Kent State University alumna, is always on the move. Visiting music and vacation venues across the country and the world, she is always on the hunt for the next great adventure. What might be surprising is that Mikala is typically traveling alone – and she likes it that way.

Kent State University graduate student Jordon Egbert said taking part in the Kigali Summer Institute in Rwanda has changed his entire perspective on life. 

 

Tram Nguyen was drawn to Kent State after seeing one of the tragic May 4, 1970, and learning the sacrifices the students made.

Vietnamese student Tram Nguyen made a connection to Kent State when she saw a picture of student Jeffrey Miller after the May 4 shooting. Recently she visited the Prentice Parking Lot Memorial Marker dedicated to Miller.

The streets of Kent, Ohio, will be filled with blue and gold as Kent State University alumni, students, parents, employees and community members gather for this year’s Homecoming, with a full slate of events Oct. 20-21.

Kent State University on Friday renewed and expanded its relationship with Dewey International University (DIU) in Battambang, Cambodia, opening a pathway for Dewey students to obtain a Kent State degree.
