Leadership Tuscarawas

The purpose of Leadership Tuscarawas is to develop passionate, visionary leaders to strengthen the community.  Participants from across the county complete the Leadership Tuscarawas program.  Members of the class meet for a full day once a month, August through May. 

No excuses. Zion Clark lives by these two words. Born without legs, the Kent State University at Tuscarawas Golden Eagles wrestling phenomenon overcomes obstacles and gladly accepts challenges both on and off the mat every day with a contagious smile.

“The obstacles I face in wrestling prepare me for everyday life,” Mr. Clark said. “Wrestling teaches me patience and persistence.”

If you ask Christopher Fenk, science is something that should be accessible to everyone. Through his research on using cellphones as lab equipment, Fenk is striving to provide classrooms with affordable alternatives to equipment that can cost between $1,200 to $2,000 per piece.

Kent State University has been named a Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobSM and Military Spouse, for the seventh year in a row. In addition, this is the fifth year that Kent State University at Tuscarawas has held the elite title. Kent State at Ashtabula has been recognized for four years.

The Women's Success Series kicks off their third year with speaker Connie Finton on Nov. 7 at Kent State University at Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia. The event is held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Cost to attend each session is $10, which includes a continental breakfast.

Part of the Tuscarawas Regional Technology Park, the Tolloty Technology Incubator is owned and managed by Kent State University at Tuscarawas and the Tuscarawas County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC). As the incubator's anchor resident, Lauren Innovations is noted as a mature and sufficiently stable resident, serving as a role model or mentoring organization for other residents and attracting new or existing start-up businesses to the incubator.

Mannheim Steamroller will present the best the holiday has to offer this season. The group will perform live for two performances at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas on Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Kent State Tuscarawas is located at 330 University Dr. NE in New Philadelphia.
