Alexandra Bangor dreams of the day when she moves to a big city to open her cosmetic/fashion line. Bangor is just a few weeks away from taking the first steps to turn her dreams into reality. As an interpersonal communication major, with a minor in public communication in Kent State University’s College of Communication and Information, Bangor is getting ready to graduate in December. But, an unexpected family event almost pushed back her career goals.

Kent State University’s College of Business Administration is once again among the most outstanding business schools, according to the Princeton Review’s Best 294 Business Schools: 2017 Edition.

Kent State University President Beverly Warren again pledged $25,000 to support Kent State on Nov. 29, which is Giving Tuesday. In addition, the Kent State University Foundation is pledging an additional $50,000 to match every gift, dollar for dollar, designated to the Kent State programs and initiatives of the donor’s choice.

Kent State University President Beverly Warren is the recipient of the 2016 National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region IV-East award for her outstanding performance as a university president. She joins an elite group of college and university presidents across the United States honored by NASPA for advancing the quality of student life on campus by supporting Student Affairs staff and programs.

The new 2016 edition of The Princeton Review’s “Guide to 361 Green Colleges” features Kent State University as one of the most environmentally responsible “green” colleges.

“It is a recognition of the advancement we have made with regard to sustainability; we have been working toward sustainability for years,” said Melanie Knowles, sustainability manager for Kent State. “We have made progress in so many areas, and that has gotten us on the list.”

Kent State University will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

Kent State University President Beverly Warren delivered the State of the University address on Thursday, Oct. 13. Themed “Living the Kent State Promise,” Warren outlined her vision of a reimagined public research university.

The new Center for Architecture and Environmental Design is officially open.
