Email Migration to Microsoft 365

Dear Kent State University Students,

Kent State University is excited to announce we are moving student email from Google Gmail to Microsoft 365. This move will provide access to the same email platform as faculty and academic support staff. Additionally, Microsoft 365 is a mail platform common among many employers and will improve the University’s ability to protect you from cyberthreats.

Migrating Email: Options

To minimize potential disruption, we are providing you with two options on how you may proceed with the migration:

  • Early Access Opt-In
Anyone who is ready to make the move can convert their account on request. This is available to you now and will remain available until the week before Fall finals. You can learn more about the process and request to migrate your account at https://movemymail.kent.edu.
  • Phased Migration
If you prefer to wait, automated migrations will begin a few weeks after the start of the spring semester. We will communicate migration dates to you in advance of any action.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the help desk at https://support.kent.edu. Additionally, if you would like training on how to use Outlook (the mail client in Microsoft 365), please visit https://training.kent.edu for a listing of live classes (delivered virtually), or check out the offerings from LinkedIn Learning to learn at your own pace.

Thank You,
The Division of Information Technology
