Main Hall Auditorium Renovation

In conjunction with the celebration of the University’s 60th year, one of the original and most heavily used facilities is getting a much needed facelift.  Thanks in part to grants from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and the Robert S. Morrison Foundation, the Main Hall Auditorium is being transformed to better meet the needs of students, faculty, local businesses and community members.

The project includes the removal of the stage, new seating, better acoustics and the latest technology. Once complete, the new auditorium will have a capacity of roughly 200 and will include updated ADA compliance as well as variable seating options for classes, lectures and events.

Van Auken Akins Architects, LLC is the designer of the new space.  Stitle Construction Corp. is the contractor.

The project is expected to be completed during the Spring 2019 semester.
